I have seen him playing villains in "The Sweeney" and possibly "Minder" I can also remember him playing a fireman in a turn of the century (19th to 20th) welsh village. Does anyone else remember that? ;D
I remember this for a particularly outlandish reason - Joe Baker. An otherwise unremarkable performer whose face and persona must have struck me at an impressionable moment.
Actually I'd completely forgotten the title, and was only dimly aware that Alfred Marks (an excellent screen actor) had been in it, but in any event Joe Baker was enough of a clue to get me to FIRE CRACKERS - us.imdb.com/title/tt0057746/ or www.phill.co.uk/comedy/crackers/index.html - which appaers to have been set in an English, rarther than Welsh, village.
Which of course reminds me - and I am sure I've asked about this before - does anyone west of the Severn have any memory of a Welsh tv comedy programme which involved the crew of a railway signal box, including much use of the phrase 'puce pencil'? (It may all have been a dream...)
