NBC is hoping an American version of "Friday Night Dinner" will satisfy sitcom fans. DeadlineHollywood.com reports the network has tapped Greg Daniels to produce the US version. Daniels is no stranger to adapting British comedies for Yankee consumption, as his success on "The Office" (the US version) has proven. For my American readers, "Friday Night Dinner"--which premiered on the UK's Channel Four earlier this year--centers on the weekly dinners of the Jewish Goodman family. (The show airs on BBC America here in the States.) In addition to "The Office," Greg Daniels--who had worked on "The Simpsons"--also produces another NBC comedy, the Emmy-nominated "Parks and Recreation."
