Hi I remember a drama from (I think) the mid 1970's set on one of the Channel Islands. It was def not a series but a single drama. Can't remember who was in it for sure but I think Tony Britton might have played a German soldier. Does anyone know the name of it?
I think the play you remember is called The Dame of Sark. Celia Johnson played Sybil Hathaway, the British ruler of the Channel Island of Sark. It was a story about how she stood up to the German occupiers during WWll and as you correctly remember, Tony Britton appeared as the commandant. It was made by Anglia Television in 1976.
Anglia produced a lot of good quality programmes during its history and you might find this article interesting
